Манастир Савина, православна душа Боке которске, у свом
саставу има три цркве. По предању, мала Црква Успења Пресвете Богородице потиче из 1030.године, а
сасвим је извесно да је оваква каква је данас, подигнута у 15. веку, у време
Херцега Стефана Вукчића Косаче. Фреске је сликао зограф Ловро Добрићевић из
Котора. Ту је и Црква Светог Саве за коју предање говори да је темеље освештао
сам Свети Сава у 13. веку, а такође је обновљена у 15. веку. На крају ту је и
прелепа велика Црква
Успења Пресвете Богородице која представља синтезу различитих стилова –
романског, готског и византијског са елементима православног барока. Зидана је
од 1777 до 1799. године, а градитељ је био корчулански мајстор Никола Форетић.
Најзначајнији свештени предмет који се чува у манастирској ризници је крст
Светог Саве.

The Savina Monastery, Orthodox heart
and soul of Boka Kotorska, has three
churches in its complex. Legend has it that the small church of Ascension of the Most Holy Mother of God dates
back to 1030, while it
is quite certain that in its present appearance it was built in the 15h century, during the reign of the duke Stefan Vukčić
Kosača. Frescoes
are the work of Lovro Dobrićević, painter from Kotor. There is also the Church of St. Sava, whose foundations are said to have been consecrated by St. Sava himself in the 13th century, and which was also rebuilt in the 15th century. Finally, there is a beautiful big church of
the Ascension of the Most Holy Mother of God which represents a synthesis of
different styles – Romanesque, Gothic and Byzantine with the elements of
Orthodox Baroque. It was
built in the period from 1777 to 1799, by the master builder Nikola Foretić
from the island of Korčula. The most important sacred object kept in the
treasury of the monastery is the cross of Saint Sava.
